AWS ENi-CI is a covered welding electrode with pure nickel core and graphitic coating for cast iron. The weld seam metal has excellent machinability and cracks resistibility. Both AC and DC can be applied.
A nickel-cored electrode designed to weld normal grades cast irons. The weld metal is soft and easily machinable, deposition is preformed on slightly preheated material. It is suitable for joining cast irons for the rectification of casting and repairing of broken parts.
The ENi-CI electrode is designed for welding of gray iron castings to themselves, as well as joining them to mild steels or stainless steels. Preheat and interpass of 350 F minimum are recommended during welding.
AWS A5.15 ENi-CI Cast iron welding electrode is used for repair welding thin pieces and processing surface of cast iron, as well as important gray cast iron pieces, such as engine gearbox, machining tools, guideways, etc.
